Julia Marden serves as a research associate for Public Knowledge.

Prior to joining Mellon, Julia was a data librarian at Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh and Columbia University Libraries, as well as a community organizer in the non-profit sector. Julia is also the founder of Tiny Panther Consulting, which supports organizations and individuals to demystify and use data to question, advocate, collaborate, and change the world.

Julia holds a BA in public policy analysis from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an MS in library science from Pratt Institute.
