Stephanie Withers

Stephanie Withers serves as the controller where she provides strategic leadership and management of the Foundation’s financial operations, including financial reporting, grants accounting, investment accounting, payroll, procurement, travel management, tax and treasury. Her role is crucial in enhancing service delivery and ensuring robust fiscal management in support of the Foundation’s mission and strategic goals.

Prior to joining Mellon, Stephanie served as the senior manager, investment operations and associate controller at W.K. Kellogg Foundation, an $8B Private Foundation. While at Kellogg Foundation, she led initiatives to modernize the finance and investment offices, overseeing investment and accounting operations, tax reporting, process improvements, and compliance.

Previously, Stephanie served the University of Michigan at the Institute of Research on Labor, Employment and the Economy as a project manager leading cross functional teams. She also worked at a public accounting firm, Plante Moran, PLLC, performing tax and audit services for both private and public sectors.

She is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a BBA and MSA from Eastern Michigan University.
