Anthony Balas

As a senior producer at Mellon, Anthony Balas helps raise the visibility of the Foundation’s mission and grantees, advancing multimedia storytelling efforts and serving as a critical bridge between grantmaking program officers and other areas of decision-making.

Before joining Mellon, Anthony worked for the national fundraising consulting firm Campbell & Company, where he partnered with over 40 nonprofits to develop messaging aimed at securing support, with a focus on philanthropic audiences in arts and culture. In addition to serving clients, he produced thought leadership on effective fundraising communications, while serving on the firm’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Access Council. Prior to his role as a consultant, Anthony worked in the development office of Latinos Progresando, an immigration legal services nonprofit on Chicago’s Southwest Side, where he led the creation of organizational content across print and digital platforms.

He holds a BA in political science from the University of Chicago.
